Hogin Sails Prosail Plotter
Hogin Sails Prosail® plotter/cutter is up and running smoothly ensuring accurate panel plotting. Hogin Sails uses SMSW 6 software to design each sail built in the loft. SMSW 6 is the most current version offered by Autometrix. The ability to rotate the design around to different viewpoints helps design the optimal sail. The program also displays anticipated load paths on the sail. This helps us choose the proper material for both the sail and corner reinforcements for the sail.
Our patch tool program designs the reinforcements for the corners of your sail. This is done using percentages of the sail’s dimensions. After they are designed they are saved to a nesting program where they are nested along with the panels of your sail.
The Prosail plotter and cutter takes the nested panels and uses vacuum to hold the material in place. Then the plotter draws all the part locations on the panels and the seam allowances. Once this is done the cutter then cuts the sail with extreme precision, then the sail enters production.
